Top 3 learnings from my first Sales Creator Content Party
that make me want to do more of them...
I’m back from Berlin where I did my first Sales Creator Content Party last Friday. The rush of running the event finally ended, but I’m still buzzing from everything I learned.
I was telling my friends Baptiste and Vik (who helped me organize the event) that I never felt stressed before, during, or after the event. Everything flowed well, everyone had fun, and we even got lucky with the weather.
It was a total success, and here are 3 main lessons I learned:
Lesson 1: You can make money throwing content events
This was my biggest worry when throwing this event. I’ve always loved throwing parties with my friends and family, but they tend to cost a ton of money. This event was not different.
Here were my main costs:
Creator payout: $3.900
Wine tasting: $938
Videographer: $757
Food: $556
DJ: $466
Venue cleanup: $291
Salaries: $291
Transportation: $217
Sound system rental: $94
In total, this party for around 30 people costed $7.510. I had budgeted around $8,000 initially, so it was a good surprise.
With a cost of $7.500 to throw this event, I knew that selling tickets would never cover the costs, so I decided to sell sponsoring packages on top of tickets. Here are my revenues:
Brand sponsoring: $8.800
Tickets: $827
In total, I made $9.627 of revenues, for a net profit of $2.117. Not bad for a first event! I also found non-monetary sponsorings (the location was provided by beyond Quartier Heidestrasse for free, and the editing of a few videos is done by A2 Media for free).
And this is the big learning from this event. When you include creators with a sizeable audience, you go from organizing a party to creating and distributing content. That’s what sponsors pay for, instead of collecting an attendee list and putting them into a marketing campaign.
Lesson 2: Brands want to organize content events
Brands are heavily investing in influencer marketing. That’s why you see a ton of sponsored posts popping on LinkedIn. But the classic sponsored posts where creators shoot low quality videos from their couches don’t cut it anymore.
That’s why brands are getting excited when they have an opportunity to gather creators together, get them to collaborate and pay them to promote their products.
I launched this party as a proof-of-concept, and it sparked conversations I could have never had without it. For example, one brand is interested in working with me to create an event where they’ll invite partners and creators and create content together.
Lesson 3: Creators need agents
Finally, creators are getting massively underpaid by brands. I’ve had many conversations with them, and here are their main challenges:
they all have full-time jobs preventing them from spending enough time negotiating with brands
they don’t know how much to charge per sponsored post
they don’t have a strategy to maximize value for the brands (and get paid more)
I’ve been speaking with brands too, and they also have difficulties working with creators because most B2B creator agencies take advantage of both creators and brands.
That’s why I’m considering working as an agent for a small amount of creators. I’m thinking of representing them so they can sign long-term contracts, work with me on event content parties (next one is in Q4), and get mentored to turn their side income into a full-time job.
So, if you’re interested in being represented by me, book a call with me and we’ll discuss how I can help you.
And these are my top 3 learnings from my first Sales Creator Content Party. I’ll report back on the performance of the campaigns as they go live.
Cheers,
Thibaut Souyris
P.S. I’m planning other content events with creators, and I’m looking for the following types of people:
Creators who already have a good video presence on LinkedIn and who have experience working with brands
Creators who want to become better at video and who have experience working with brands
Creators who want to learn from other creators who are a few steps ahead of them
My idea is to organize events that mix:
sponsored content creation
masterclasses from the top creators
unique locations, experiences, and growth opportunities
For now, I’m thinking of the following:
a content party in Montreal or Toronto in Q4 2025
a creator retreat in Mexico in February 2026
a creator retreat in South of France in May/June 2026
a content party in Berlin in July 2025
